Education Field Residency (EDFR)

EDFR 3110  Field Lab Residency I

Requirement of one semester of field residency (consisting of 30 clock hours) while enrolled in departmentally approved field residency courses. This lab course is designed to equip pre-service teacher candidates with classroom observation experiences in the field. This lab is taken in conjunction with designated field residency courses in which students are provided specific assignments to complete during the classroom observation. The course must be successfully completed prior to teaching. TSI Restriction(s): Reading, Math, and Writing

Prerequisites: Admission to the teacher preparation program.

Restrictions: Graduate level students may not enroll.Enrollment limited to students with the EDFR 3110 Field Res I attribute.

EDFR 3120  Field Lab Residency II

EDFR 4310  Elmntry Clinic Tch:Fld Res IV

Students will demonstrate, in a laboratory setting, knowledge of and an ability to effectively apply those skills necessary for successful teaching in the elementary school. Clinical teaching is a half-time assignment for 30 weeks in an accredited elementary school. Course must be taken twice in consecutive semesters. Student is to furnish transportation. TSI Restriction(s): Reading, Math, and Writing

Prerequisites: EDFR 3110, EDFR 3120, and all coursework required by degree plan and certification route.

EDFR 4320  Secondary Clinical Teaching: Field Residency IV

Students will demonstrate, in a laboratory setting, knowledge of and an ability to effectively apply those skills necessary for successful teaching in the secondary school. Clinical teaching is a half-time assignment for 30 weeks in an accredited secondary school. Course must be taken twice in consecutive semesters. Student is to furnish transportation. TSI Restriction(s): Reading, Math, and Writing

Student teaching is a full-time assignment for 16 weeks in an accredited elementary school. Student is to furnish transportation. TSI Restriction(s): Reading, Math, and Writing
